Chris Klein-Höing bei Beprobung von Zooplankton von einem Boot

Why I advocate for water bodies

Therefore, as an independent water scientist (M.Sc.), I support and advise

owners, municipalities, companies, and organizations

in order to preserve still waters as valuable natural and recreational spaces.

The future of lake restoration depends on a holistic approach that combines science and practice, involves all stakeholders, and collaborates across sectors.*

I would like to contribute to this!

This allows me to compare measures from a large number of companies and obtain quotes, resulting in the most effective and cost-efficient solution possible.

I maintain my independence in order to be able to develop the best possible package of measures for every body of water.

Out of respect for nature, I work in harmony with complex ecosystems instead of against them.

Why I became self-employed

Through a part-time job, I saw how many good solutions exist for water management

– but also how many scientifically unfounded and unsuitable solutions there are. And how many reports are produced that are scientifically sound, but impractical and incomprehensible to many.

To be able to live up to this as much as possible, I am in close contact with scientific institutions and work together with laboratories and specialized engineering firms as well as companies.

Therefore, I do not offer proprietary methods or procedures, but rather develop solutions based on data and scientifically proven measures.

» Chris played a crucial role in the successful planning and execution of a Bentophos/Phoslock application in a German lake. His extensive expertise in aquatic ecology, environmental planning, and project management was evident from the initial conceptual phase through to the successful completion of the project. Furthermore, he coordinated the accompanying water quality investigations and sampling with great care and professionalism.

Chris navigated the complex approval processes with confidence, coordinated communication with relevant stakeholders and authorities, and ensured that all project requirements were implemented efficiently and on schedule. His professionalism, reliability, and solution-oriented approach gave us great confidence at every stage of the project. Due to his professional competence and dedication, I can unreservedly recommend Chris for projects in the fields of water management, environmental planning, and ecological restoration «

My background

With an M.Sc. in Water Science and a B.Sc. in Landscape Ecology, I have an understanding of river restoration, environmental planning, biogeochemistry, and water development planning, and I have learned to view the connections between the environment, people, and technology holistically and to develop solutions based on this.

I was able to expand this understanding in the field of water-conscious urban design at the City of Dortmund, where I also became familiar with the processes in the public sector and government agencies.
